What is the Manchester Virtual Walk?
The Manchester Virtual Walk is a twist on our annual Manchester Midnight Walk. We are asking you to walk 10km during our big 50th birthday weekend 14th – 17th May 2021. Do 10k your way to raise funds for St Ann’s Hospice.
Is there a set route and distance?
You choose your route and distance, we ask you to do 10km but you could choose 10km a day, 10km over the weekend or one 10km walk at some point in the weekend.
When is the event?
Take part for our birthday weekend on 14th-16th May 2021 but if you can’t make those dates join in any time in May!
Do I have to be fit to take part?
You set your own pace and target so this event is open to people of all abilities. If walking can be hard for you why not do 1km a day for 10 days, if you are looking for more of a challenge take on 10km a day over the birthday weekend and walk 30km. This event really is open to everyone.
Do I have to be over 18 to take part?
Anyone of any age can take part in this challenge, all we ask is that anyone under 11 is accompanied by an adult.
Where should I do my challenge?
You can do your 10km anywhere you would like, your local park, garden or your local area.
How do I let you know I have completed my challenge?
Please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you have completed your challenge
What happens once I complete my challenge?
Once you have let us know we will send you a medal in the post.
How much does it cost to enter?
Prices to register start at £3.50 for a child and £7 for an adult if you register before 31st March and go to £5 for a child and £10 an adult after this.
What does my registration cost cover?
Your registration fee covers the cost of us hosting this event, adults will be sent t-shirts in a fundraising pack and everyone who takes part will receive a medal.
How do I enter?
You can register by going to www.mmwalk.org.uk or calling us on 0161 498 3631.
Do I have to fundraise if I enter?
Your registration fee will cover the cost of holding the event it will not be a direct donation to the hospice. Any money you raise in sponsorship will go directly towards the care we offer here at the hospice so we ask you to raise as much as possible towards this.
Can I apply for a refund?
This event is non-refundable as per the terms and conditions but if you do have a problem please contact email@example.com
Can I take part as a team?
Yes, teams are welcome to join in the virtual walk
When will I receive my t-shirt?
Packs will be sent out the beginning of April, if you have not received yours by 12th April please get in touch on firstname.lastname@example.org
What are the t-shirt sizes?
T-shirts come in sizes S, M, L, XL and XXL. Please note we do not have children sizes.
Do I have to set-up a JustGiving page?
You do not have to set up a JustGiving page however it is a great tool to use to help you and your fundraising. You will have to have a JustGiving page to join the leaderboard for both distance and money raised.
How do I pay my funds raised to St Ann’s Hospice?
Money raised on JustGiving will come directly to St Ann’s Hospice, any money raised via your sponsor form can be dropped into the hospice or a cheque made out to St Ann’s Hospice along with your completed sponsor form can be sent in the post to;
